Here is the outdoor installation of a torn series that includes all the most recent subjects of the “old but gold – SE”. During the last few months we have photographed dozens of old cracked walls in the city and the countryside, overlayered these textures on our subjects, increasing our yet structured collages by a further layer. The prints are cut out in the studio and further finished on site by trying to follow the cracks in the wall below. They are supposed to be mirrors for people trying to understand the past. If there are no old things, how can the new things come. If one doesn’t know the “old”, how can he/she discover the “new”. “Re-see” is not to look back, but to continue the crack with new perspectives.
